"Os Lobos" de Rino Lupo
Cine-concert with Bicho Carpinteiro | +12 years old
1923 | Portugal | 83 min. | With: José Soveral, Branca de Oliveira, Sarah Cunha
Wednesday, December at 9:00 pm
Based on the theatrical work "Os Lobos: Tragédia Rústica em Três Actos", this work by Rino Lupo became one of the greatest cinematographic successes of the 1920s. The film tells the story of Ruivo who, after serving a for a crime of passion, arrives at a village in Serra da Cabreira. And so he becomes an element of fascination and dissolution of this archaic structure dominated by the patriarchal tradition.
For the second consecutive year, the Money Museum is associated with the Salão Piolho initiative and presents the feature film by Rino Lupo "Os Lobos", accompanied musically by Bicho Carpinteiro.
About Bicho Carpinteiro…
It presents an instrumental rock and a “muscled” folk sprinkled with viras, fados and chulas. Viola braguesa and viola beiroa, electrified cavaquinhos, traditional bass drums, quitted timbrels and auto-tune lenga-lenga are the tools of Vasco Ribeiro Casais and Rui Rodrigues, two musicians with a “carpenter bug”, use and abuse to bring the nostalgic cultural cauldron of Portugal in a new light.
Salão Piolho
In 2022, Salão Piolho continues to “spread” and returns to Lisbon with 4 cinema-concerts that showcase the best national and international silent cinema. Comedy, drama and horror, the sessions always enjoy the company of live music by talented Portuguese musicians who create unique sounds for this event. From electronics to jazz, not forgetting traditional Portuguese music, dear to the INATEL Foundation, we offer 4 moments full of emotion for those who are passionate about Music and Cinema.
