In the year in which we celebrate 20 years of the Euro's entry into circulation, we propose a workshop for families where we will learn more about the money we have in our wallet.
We obviously think of money as a means of payment, a unit of account and store of value. However, money also has many other meanings. The Euro, as a single currency, is one of the most concrete proofs of European integration. And it also has a history of its own in terms of its design and conception.
Did you know, for example, that the graphic symbol of the euro (€) was inspired by the Greek letter epsilon and evokes the first letter of the word “Europe”? Do you know what eras and artistic styles are represented in the notes?
In this workshop you discover all that, and if you have a coin or a Euro note at hand, even better!
