the commemorative coin of the 75th Anniversary of the UN
As part of the measures to combat prevent COVID-19 pandemic, the Museum will be closed between January 15 to 30.
Did you know that in 2020 the United Nations celebrates 75 years? The Museum's new temporary exhibition is an invitation to learn more about its history and to discover the new €2 coin that celebrates this date.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, the Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office (INCM) in partnership with Banco de Portugal and the United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC), minted a commemorative coin with the face value €2.
Now at the Money Museum you can discover this coin, with the national side created by the designer and illustrator André Letria, winner of the national illustration prize.
This exhibition is also an invitation to discover more about the history of the UN, the largest forum for diplomacy and intergovernmental dialogue in the world, of which Portugal has been a member since 1955.
