Do you have a piggy bank?
If you don't have it yet, maybe it's time. Find out here how to make a piggy bank (only in portuguese).

The old clay piggy bank, in the shape of a piggy, is like a small safe, which originally did not have a key or code like some of those we have at home. in order to get the coins out of the piggy bank, we had to break it!

But why are the most typical piggy banks shaped like a pig?

It is not certain, but it is said that piggy banks with pig shape appeared in Germany and England about 300 years ago. But why the pig shape? Because this animal and its meat were and are very important for some cultures, as a source of food, and as such they hold a lot of value.
