Dreamocracy (Raquel Freire, Valérie Mittieaux, Portugal, documentary, 2015). Followed by conversation with the director Raquel Freire.
Inspired by the Arab Spring, João and Pedro, two young idealists, graduates, unemployed, and their friends organise the great demonstration of 12 March 2011. They managed to mobilise half a million people against austerity, which led them further to create the “Citizens’ Academy” to empower citizens and find the tools to save democracy. Using new ways of doing politics, Dreamocracy brings us another point-of-view on contemporary activism, which is home-made, refined online and hits the streets in search of real change and new paradigms.
Followed by conversation with the director Raquel Freire.
