Cinema at the Museum: "The City is protagonist"

Night on Earth (Jim Jarmusch, drama, 1991)
A sequence of five comedies that take place simultaneously but in different time zones, continents and languages. Each vignette is centred on the relationship that develops between taxi-driver and passenger, sharing the inside of the cab, suspended between established destinations whilst the taxi travels through the night. The film starts in Los Angeles as sunset gives way to darkness, followed by the New York night, then Paris, Rome, and finally Helsinki, where night turns into day once again.
