Following the tragic death of their mother, Ben and Saoirse, ten and six, live in a large lighthouse by the sea with their father, a sad and bitter man. One day, Ben discovers that his sister is a fairy who can turn into a seal and then transform back again. And when she plays a flute made from a shell that belonged to her mother, she frees fairy creatures cursed by a terrible spell. To give the enchanted creatures their powers back and set them free, the siblings embark on an adventure in which they have to face their deepest fears...

Inspired by Irish folklore, 'Song of the sea' is directed by Tomm Moore, who was Oscar-nominated for the second time for Best Animated Feature Film, following "The Secret of Kells" (2009), his début film.
