A Toca do Lobo (102 min.) - Catarina Mourão
Following 'Pelas Sombras' (Through Shadows), a portrait of artist Lourdes Castro, director Catarina Mourão now focuses on another figure of Portuguese culture: her grandfather, the writer Tomaz de Figueiredo. A glimpse through the secret doors of a life remembered by his children and grandchildren only through his work, as well as a family separated by his death and marked by day-to-day life in a country under dictatorship – a country he wrote about on his extensive travels within it. The secrets and events live on in his old house, speaking to us today from a locked bedroom – a bedroom opened by the director's camera and the driving force behind this film: intimacy.
