Notaphily workshop: Classification, handling and preventive conservation

Throughout the 4 sessions, knowledge and experience of the basic principles of notaphily, especially with regard to the Portuguese case, will be debated.
The Notaphily workshop follows the workshop taking place in 2016 on Numismatics. Over four sessions, the workshop presents and debates the basic principles of Notaphily, particularly Portuguese Notaphily, as well as individual experiences of it.
Based on the Museum's exhibition and analysis of images, inscriptions, symbols and documents, the participants discover and feel in their hands the historic and cultural wealth held in each banknote.
Each sessions has a different theme.
1st Session: The origins of the banknote and basic terminology
2nd Session: Manufacture, printing topics, themes and methods
3rd Session: Classification, handling and preventive conservation
4th Session: Ilustration, the art of banknotes
NB. Bookings may be taken for individual sessions or the workshop as a whole.
